I’m thrilled to introduce Vibe Coding for VCs, an exclusive Build First x Company Ventures workshop designed to help investors go beyond the hype and actually build with AI.
This four-hour, in-person session takes place in New York City on September 19.
Learn more and RSVP through Build First (AI powered) or Luma (the classic way).

Here’s the gist: Learning AI is not like learning how to use a new tool (like a calculator). It’s like learning a new language: One that requires fluency, patience, and deliberate practice.
Vibe Coding is the art of building software with words instead of code, making it possible for anyone to create AI-powered applications. Yes, it feels like magic. But it also helps a lot to understand a bit about tech architecture and frameworks.
In the session, we’ll cover an explicit AI design framework I co-developed with Decoded Futures last fall (the same process that’s help me build 100+ custom GPTs and 50+ mini-apps).

We’ll build something together — slowly — and then we’ll break up for an AI Power Hour to build something on your own (much faster). We’ll have technical specialists on hand for those super quirky bugs that we’ll all inevitably run into. And yes, we’ll even invite you all to demo what you’ve built at the end.
I’m really excited to be collaborating with Matt Harrigan and Sanice Embleton at Company Ventures on this project, both in conceptualizing this idea and in the physical space that officially convinced me to pursue the founder path for myself, back in 2021.
In my 15 years working in tech, even among esteemed VCs like Union Square Ventures and Variant Fund, and groundbreaking technologists from Stack Overflow, Protocol Labs, and Uniswap, I’d never really understood what it meant to be a builder.
That is, until AI.
Eight months ago, I built my first app in a single weekend. That paradigm shift fundamentally transformed my perception of this industry and redefined what’s possible (and what’s essential) to fund and build for the next generation.
There is no doubt that AI is fundamentally changing the way we think about work, the way we build, the way we operate, and the way we collaborate. But until you build something for yourself, it’s impossible to grok the transformative nature of this sea change.
It will change the way we build businesses.
It will change the way we fund businesses.
It will change the relationship we have with software.
And — most interestingly — it will change the persona of the person who steps up to the plate and dares to call themself a founder.
(For those of us who have been living and breathing with AI as a literal lifeline, it already has.)

That’s why it’s essential for anyone investing in the next generation to move beyond the theoretical into the practical.
Sure, build a tool for your firm. But don’t build for the blog post, or for the productivity gains in your due diligence. Build for the mindset shift that takes hold once you recognize that the world you’ve always known isn’t the one your kids are going to grow up into.
It’s not a question of if, it’s a question of when. September 19 is your chance to find out. What will you Build First?

Vibe Coding for VCs will take place in NYC on Sept 19 from 1-5 p.m. Learn more and RSVP at Build First (AI powered) or Luma (the classic way).
