This spring, make it your job to start talking about AI and start building with it.
I’ve got six Build First community events coming up over the next two months, ranging from free intro sessions to full-day build-a-thons, and I’d love to see you there.
You can check out all upcoming events here: buildfirst.ai/events
(And if you’ve got a network who might benefit from a Build First workshop or community event this spring or summer, give a shout at bethany@buildfirst.ai.)

Virtual (Zoom) | 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. ET | Free
In this third event in the Build First x Girls Who Code upskilling series, I’m excited to teach how to make AI a “brainstorming buddy” for real life choices.
Bring some info about yourself (ie: a resume, cover letter, or portfolio) and a career decision you’re wrestling with (ie: grad school, a job offer, a pivot) and we’ll build an AI-powered “decision engine” together. You’ll teach Claude Code about yourself using your resume and portfolio, then create a tool that helps you think through what’s next.
In-person (NoMad, NYC) | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET | Free
Tired of vibe coding alone? Co-hosted with Louise Macfadyen, localhost:3000 is a new meetup that convenes local NYC vibe coders and builders from all backgrounds for a bit of IRL inspiration and companionship.
Intentionally small, we’re keeping this first event to a full workday with 24 builders. Bring a personal project (ie: a CRM, a journaling app, a life dashboard) and spend the day building alongside other makers. See how far you can get in a prototype from 0 to MVP. End the afternoon showcasing what you made.
Virtual (Zoom) | 12:00 – 2:30 PM ET | $250
This 2.5-hour hands-on workshop is the Build First signature AI experience for operators, founders, and small business owners who are tired of duct-taping workflows together and want to use AI to build something better.
In this session, we’ll teach the POP-IT framework to help you identify a problem in your day-to-day work that AI can solve, then build a custom tool two ways (one chatbot and one vibe coded interface). You’ll leave with a working prototype that you can use the very same day.
Ideal for anyone who’s looking to build something real for your current day-to-day function.
Virtual (Zoom) | 10:00 – 10:45 AM PT | Free for AI Snack Club members
In partnership with AI Snack Club, Build First is offering a 45-minute primer for anyone interested in getting started with personal operating systems. In this session, we’ll show you how to use Claude Code to set up a personal operating system that connects to the things you care about (email, calendar, and call transcripts).
I’ll also give a demo of the personal operating system I build to power my own life and business and tips for setting yourself up with starter prompts to get you going to build your own.
Virtual (Zoom) | 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET | $250
Most operators and small business owners don't need a better SaaS subscription. They need one specific tool that does exactly one specific thing for their business. In this 2.5-hour workshop, we'll build your MVP.

Virtual (Zoom) | 2 hours | $250 | AI Agents Conference
This is the deep dive version of the operating system primer above.
In partnership with the all-virtual AI Agents Conference, this paid workshop invites participants to dig deep into their personal workflows. Over the course of 2.5 hours, we’ll build a custom tool connected directly to your email, calendar, and business docs using the POP-IT framework. Small cohort, max 25 builders.
